US Delays M-16s For Israel Security Squads As Minister Politicises Distribution, Arms Settlers

The US has reportedly delayed a shipment of 4,500 M-16 rifles amid fears that they were being used to arm settlers in the West Bank. The $13 million purchase from American suppliers was supposed to arm civilian security squads in towns throughout the country, as per reports. Washington is miffed by Israeli National Security Minister MK Itamar Ben Gvir for inappropriately distributing the weapons at political events.
